The Sustainable Energy for All Building Efficiency Accelerator (BEA) assists sub-national governments in speeding up the process of adoption of best-practice policies and implementation of building efficiency projects, with the goal of doubling the rate of energy efficiency improvement in the building sector by 2030. The BEA global partnership is designed to complement existing networks of cities with a venue for engagement with private sector partners.

Today, the Building Efficiency Initiative (BEI) of WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities announces the launch of a new resource for knowledge on building efficiency at http://www.buildingefficiencyinitiative.org/.
Energy efficiency is touted as a “low-hanging fruit” for cities to take hold of, in order to lower overall carbon emissions. Indeed, energy efficiency opportunities are well understood and implemented in a variety of settings worldwide. And yet, energy efficiency as a strategy is still underutilized.
